Meeting in Huonville
Lutruwita
Tasmania

Bob Brown Foundation is hosting a Swift Parrot citizen science project in Tasmania’s threatened forests over the coming months.

We will be running Swift Parrot Citizen Science Surveys in threatened forests over seven weeks from November to December.

We will primarily be looking for Swift Parrots, but we will also use this opportunity to survey for the Blue gums and Black gums they feed upon, or the mature habitat (hollow-bearing trees) they use for nesting.

Day trip into the southern forests, leaving from a meet-up point in Huonville.

We will be surveying Swift parrots in proposed or active Forestry Tasmania coupes to make sure more habitat and feeding isn’t lost.

If you know anyone able to join us to learn, share, teach and make a stand to protect this fragile and incredible bird, please be in touch: swiftparrot@bobbrown.org.au

The Swift parrot is the canary in the coal mine for our rapidly depleting ecosystems. We need to protect Native Forests Now!
