Professor David Lindenmayer is a world-leading expert in forest and woodland ecology, resource management, conservation science, and biodiversity conservation. Sue McKinnon is a conservationist and President of Kinglake Friends of the Forest. In 2022 KFF won a Supreme Court case against VicForests which determined that VicForests had been carrying out widespread illegal logging over the Central Highlands. Aawa White is the main facilitator and trainer for the Kinglake Friends of the Forest Citizen Science Network.
