Victorian National Parks Association & The Grassy Plains Network

Sunday, 3 November 2024 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Jollys’ Grassland 295 Parwan-Exford Road Parwan
Wadawurrung and Wurundjeri Country
Victoria

We are land management professionals, academics, ecologists and community concerned about the ongoing decline of grassy ecosystems across Melbourne and its surrounds. We advocate for improved grassland protection and management. Grassland once extended across the Victorian Volcanic Plain all the way from the Yarra River to the South Australian border. Sadly, less than 2% of that original extent remains, and much of what does remain is heavily degraded.

Join us for our second tour of these truly magnificent grasslands out towards Bacchus Marsh, between the rail line and the Werribee River. Bursting with flowers, Featherheads and swaying grassheads, this privately owned country property is a real eye-opener. If you’ve been before, come again! See the season’s progression! To get there, drive across the railway line into the property and follow the arrows.

Remember to wear closed shoes, dress sensibly for the weather and bring sunscreen and water!

Eco-shout national grassroots events calendar promotes actions, protests, film screenings, public forums, campaign training, workshops, conservation, revegetation and gatherings for environmental and social justice. Check out how much it's kicking off around the country - together we are lots! Add an event and we'll share it through social media at peak times and do our best to shout about it. Share the calendar with your grumpy mates who think there's nothing going on.
