Geelong Field Naturalists Club

Friday, 22 October 2021 - 7:00am to Tuesday, 26 October 2021 - 12:00am

The Great Southern BioBlitz is on again! Join the Geelong Project and compete with people from more than 150 other regions, cities and towns across the Southern Hemisphere to discover and record as many plant, animal and fungus species as possible over a 4 day observation period.

The observation phase is from October 22nd to October 25th, while the data entry and identification stage continues running until 1st November, 2021.

This is the second time the Greater Geelong region will be participating in the GSB. All you need to do is to photography or sound record wildlife in your backyard, local park or surrounding national parks and upload to iNaturalist using your phone app or computer. A great way to learn about the biodiversity within our wetlands, bushland and coastal environments.

Skilled naturalists will help identify your observations.

See the official GSB page below to find out more.

Eco-shout national grassroots events calendar promotes actions, protests, film screenings, public forums, campaign training, workshops, conservation, revegetation and gatherings for environmental and social justice. Check out how much it's kicking off around the country - together we are lots! Add an event and we'll share it through social media at peak times and do our best to shout about it. Share the calendar with your grumpy mates who think there's nothing going on.
